Before You Go

  • Clocks fall back Saturday night. Daylight saving time ends at 2:00 AM Sunday.
  • Bring cash. The shuttle and park gate take exact cash only. Cell service at the gate is spotty.
  • Best view: the open area below the boathouses shows about 1,500 meters, including the last big turn.
  • Grandstand: the final 500 meters. The trail has exposed roots, so wear good shoes.
  • Dress for the river. Bring layers, a chair and a blanket.
