Team Shirts

The team shirt is a yearly tradition at Granby Crew. There’s only one way to earn it… competition. Coaches and athletes wear the shirt, having done the work to be ready to race, and then following through on that work. You don’t get the shirt when you join; you get it soon before a race (hopefully your first).

Over the years, we/ve been asked by parents, teachers, and even adult rowers if our shirts are for sale. The answer is no. Even amazing volunteer work for the team does not get you into the exclusive club of competitors… sorry.

Of note, we have extra shirts each year because we order them in the fall, and hope more teammates will join later in the year. So what happens to any left over when the year ends? They are earned through competition too. Throw-back shirts are awarded at the year-end-party for the best performances in Row-a-palooza and the weightlifting championship.

Current athletes cannot design the team shirt. But we would love to have alumni help to create them. If you’ve got a design, send it in. Support Granby Crew.
